Reverend Jimmy Beggs added pastoral insights, illustrations, and cross-cultural applications to Corinthians. He graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a B.A. in Biblical Studies, and from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary with an M.A. in Communications. His 44 years of ministry include 14 years in pastoral ministry, and 30 years in missions, teaching in Bible Schools and planting churches. He has served as the Missionary Field Chairman in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. His wife, Mary, has served beside him, as the National Women’s Ministry leader for 20 years in Tanzania and 12 in Kenya. Jimmy and Mary have two children, both in ministry. Their son, Greg, is the Assemblies of God Area Director of Missions in East Africa. Their daughter, Suzan Triplett, has served as and Assemblies of God missionary and also a pastor's wife in Texas.
